Expert in indigenous environmentalism Professor Rani-Henrik Andersson is joined by students from Leiden University to discuss the relationship between indigenous peoples and waterbodies. The conversation dives into how the perception of water and nature by indigenous peoples can be an attribution to Western academic views on environmentalism. Andersson explains this by the different roles water can have for different people and how disputes about water have been around for ages since the colonial period.
